Hello you! Here I am going to post some tips and indications to make your trip safe and cheap. I am going to put some cities that are current locations where you might be taking the bus from.
Lima:
馃憠Local buses: Ask your hostel's receptionist to call a taxy for you, and, once the taxi gets there, ask the recepcionist to help you with the driver. Something that is very frecuent is that when travellers ask prices to taxi drivers, they use to charge you more, but if a local asks the price (even for the same distance), price gets cheaper somehow! So, ask him or her to ask the taxi driver to take you to Soyuz/ Peru Bus (both are the same company). The area where this bus company is located (La Victoria district), is unsafe, so please be careful and, if possible, ask the driver to drop you inside the bus agency (they have a parking inside). Buses going from Lima to Ica are very frecuent. They go every 20 minutes and price is around $8-$9usd. This bus is going to stop on the road whenever they find people, so take good care of your stuff. As this bus has many stops, it will get longer than direct buses, Around 6 hours. Once you are in Ica, take a taxi inside the bus agency. Ask the price first. To Sol de Huacachina, which is 8 minutes away, might be 5 or maximum 6 soles. Please do not pay more!
馃憠Direct buses: On the same bus station Soyuz/ Peru bus, you have a VIP service, which is direct from Lima to Ica, no stops. Around 4 and a half hours. This one costs around $15usd and it only goes at certain times. Almost every two hours. You can check times and prices on www.redbus,pe . Or you can travel by Cruz del Sur, which I personally believe is the best bus company in the country and by "best" I don't mean the most expensive one. Although sometimes it is, but there are some little tricks to take luxury buses on very cheap prices. If you want to take a bus for tomorrow or for even later than tomorrow, get in www.cruzdelsur,com.pe. Please don't change the language from spanish to english. If you do it, you won't get this special offers. It is shitty, I know, but it is the way it works. Select the date you want to travel and there you can find some good deals. You can have a sit from Lima to Ica from $6-$7usd. And if you book with more anticipation, you have more chances to get this offers. Because in every bus, there are always a couple of sits with very good offers. The other ones are between $13-$20usd. Once you are in Ica, take a taxi just on the entrance of the bus agency. Ask the price first. To Sol de Huacachina, which is 8 minutes away, might be 5 or maximum 6 soles. Please do not pay more!
Arequipa:
馃憠Here, you can apply the same with www.cruzdelsur.com.pe . If you book with some time in advance, you might get deals from $19usd. For a 12 hours bus with dinner and sometimes even breakfast included! If you don't get this offer, you might pay $27usd. Some other good companies, are Tepsa and Civa. Safe, confortable and cheap.
Cusco:
馃憠Same. www.cruzdelsur.com.pe. If you book with some time in advance, you might get deals from $38usd. For a 16 hours bus with dinner, breakfast and even lunch included! If you don't get this offer, you might pay $54usd. Some other good companies, are Tepsa and Civa. Safe, confortable and cheap.
